Who does what?

 

Nurse Practitioner


Nurse practitioners are able to deal with most minor injuries and minor illnesses such as coughs, earache, diarrhoea, rash, skin infections, red eye, allergic reactions, cystitis, thrush, childhood illnesses, emergency contraception and others. They are qualified to issue prescriptions.

 

Our nurse practitioners cover the majority of available same day appointments.

 

 

Paramedic Practitioner


Paramedic practitioners are able to deal with vist requests, minor injuries and many minor illnesses.

Practice Nurses


The practice nurses can give help and advice on many aspects of health care such as immunisation and travel advice, contraception, dressing of wounds, diet, cervical smears and general health advice. They run chronic disease management surgeries covering areas such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease, lung disease, hypertension, etc.

 

Treatment Room Nurse

 

The Treatment Room Nurse deal with blood tests, blood pressure monitoring, smoking cessation referrals, new patient checks, ECG's, NHS Health Checks, stitch removal, routine dressings, wound care, minor injuries, child immunisations, etc.


Health Care Assistant


The health care assistants deal with blood tests, blood pressure monitoring, smoking cessation referrals, new patient checks, ECG's, NHS Health Checks, ear irrigation, stitch removal, routine dressings, etc.
